Rolled tone holes.
PMXT-66R Series Tenor Saxophones incorporate P. Mauriat's unique rolling process which fully utilizes the saxophone's existing material. Unlike rolled toneholes of the past, there is no soldering here, the toneholes are drawn from the body and then rolled over allowing superior resonance throughout the entire saxophone and increased response in all ranges. The PMXT-66R also has an enlarged bell that lets the warm, fat sound of this exceptional horn really cut through an ensemble. This professional class instrument also features a Super VI style neck, abalone key touches, and hand engraving on the bell and bow.
PMXt-66R Series Tenor Saxophones are available in four unique finishes: vintage dark lacquer (DK), classic gold lacquer (GL), cognac lacquer (CL) , and raw brass (UL). Each lacquer lends a different color to the sound.
PMXT-66R DK - The vintage dark lacquer finish compliments the PMXA- 67R with a warm round sound players will fall in love with.
PMXT-66R GL - A gold lacquer finish has a slightly more brilliant tone than the vintage dark lacquer and offers players the classic look, feel, and response that one should expect of a professional saxophone.
PMXT-66R CL -Cognac lacquer gives the player a new and unique look and feel as well as free response. It's very uniform in all registers with the outstanding intonation quality.
PMXT-66R UL - Unfinished raw brass allows this sax to resonate freely. In addition, the absence of lacquer allows the brass to age over time, creating a unique vintage look and feel.
